Our 2004 kitchen had two doors peeling off at the dishwasher and a corner cabinet nobody could reach. They drew three versions in elevation before we picked one, swapped the doored bases for drawers, and matched the paint to the trim the builder used so the family room still reads as one room.
I called expecting a hard sell on a new kitchen and got talked into about a tenth of that. Dampers on every door, roll-outs in four cabinets and the hinges re-aimed. It feels like a different kitchen and they were straight with me that the boxes had years left in them.
They rebuilt the flanking recesses either side of our fireplace and scribed everything to walls that turned out to be well off plumb. The baseboard profile on the new units matches the rest of the house exactly, which is the part I did not expect anyone to bother with.
Sink base had rotted out under a slow leak we never noticed. They rebuilt it in plywood, put in an undermount bowl in a quartz top, and were done in the window they quoted. No surprises on the invoice and they came back to adjust the doors a month later.
