Custom Kitchen Cabinets
Pull one drawer completely out of an Allen kitchen framed between 2002 and 2014 and the whole story is visible in ten seconds. Particleboard sides, a thin bottom panel floating in a groove, and an epoxy-coated side-mount slide rated for about forty pounds.

Bathroom Vanities
The builder's primary-bath vanity in Allen is nearly always the same object. A sixty or seventy-two inch box standing thirty and a half inches tall, carrying a cultured marble top with the bowls cast into the deck as one piece.

Closet Systems
Every production house in Allen was handed over with the same closet. One coated-wire shelf with a rod welded into it, screwed to drywall clips at sixty-six inches, and nothing else in the room.

Garage Cabinets
An unconditioned garage in Allen runs past a hundred and twenty degrees on a July afternoon and drops forty degrees behind a January front. That swing is the design condition, and it rules out most of what gets sold as garage storage.

Built-In Cabinetry
The two-story family room is the signature of Allen's 2000s plans, and it is the room built-ins exist for. Twenty feet of wall above the fireplace, a pair of shallow recesses flanking it, and nowhere in the whole space to put a book.

Entertainment Centers
Somewhere in most Allen family rooms sits a drywall niche above the fireplace, framed about forty-two inches wide with a recessed outlet, sized for a television that stopped being sold around 2009. A sixty-five inch panel neither fits inside it nor looks right beside it.

Laundry Room Cabinets
The builder's laundry room in Allen is a five by seven box with one wire shelf over the machines, a hose bib in the wall, and a door that swings into the room. It is the most under-designed space in the house and among the cheapest to fix properly.

Pantry Systems
The walk-in pantry in an Allen production plan arrives with four or five rows of sixteen-inch coated wire, spaced evenly from thirty inches to the ceiling. Cans tip through the gaps, bags slump sideways, and the top row is where food goes to be forgotten.

Cabinet Refacing
Refacing means keeping the boxes and changing the doors, the drawer fronts and the visible skin. Whether it is worth doing in Allen turns on one question asked at the cabinet, not on the phone.

Cabinet Hardware
A surprising number of Allen kitchens were handed over with no cabinet hardware at all, or with one knob size repeated across every door and drawer in the room. Adding pulls is the cheapest change with a visible result, and it is the one most often done badly.

Soft-Close & Pull-Out Upgrades
This is the smallest job on our list and the one with the best ratio of result to money. Most Allen kitchens from the 2000s have boxes that are structurally sound, hinges that still adjust, and no soft-close anywhere in the room.

Countertops
The counters that came with Allen's 2000s and 2010s houses are usually a three-centimetre granite in a busy brown and black pattern, or a laminate in the entry-level plans. Both date a kitchen faster than the cabinets underneath them do.

Kitchen Islands
The island in an Allen production kitchen is usually a three by six foot base carrying a sink, with the dishwasher beside it and a twelve-inch overhang seating two stools badly. Almost everything people want an island to do, that one does not.

Wine & Bar Cabinets
A wet bar in an Allen house is almost always a conversion. Either the butler's pantry between the dining room and the kitchen gets rebuilt, or a stretch of wall in a formal dining nobody eats in becomes a bar with an undercounter refrigerator in it.

Mudroom & Entryway Storage
Almost every Allen plan built after about 2004 has a short hall between the garage door and the kitchen, sometimes with a framed niche waiting for a bench. Those six or eight feet of wall decide whether the house works at seven in the morning.

Commercial Millwork
Commercial casework is a different trade from residential cabinetry, and the difference is the specification. A tenant improvement along the Sam Rayburn Tollway or the US 75 corridor gets built to an architect's drawings, a submittal schedule and a written standard, not to a homeowner's taste.
Allen Elite Custom Cabinets designs, builds and installs custom kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, closet systems, pantry shelving, built-ins and commercial millwork in Allen, Texas. Boxes are three-quarter furniture-grade plywood with dadoed and glued joints, doors are solid maple, white oak or painted five-piece MDF, and every drawer runs on full-extension undermount slides.
Most of our work is replacing builder-grade cabinetry in houses framed between about 2000 and 2015. Thermofoil doors delaminate at the sink and the dishwasher, particleboard sink decks swell under a slow leak, and a kitchen drawn for a smaller household stops working. We rebuild the plan as well as the boxes: drawer banks in place of doored bases, a blind-corner pull-out instead of a lazy Susan, and a trash pull-out where the bin now stands.
We are licensed, insured and bonded, we measure and draw every job in elevation before anything is ordered, and the work carries a written workmanship warranty. Residential and commercial both, from kitchens and closets to reception desks, break rooms and medical casework. Estimates are free and the drawings are yours whether you hire us or not.
What Allen Customers Say
Our 2004 kitchen had two doors peeling off at the dishwasher and a corner cabinet nobody could reach. They drew three versions in elevation before we picked one, swapped the doored bases for drawers, and matched the paint to the trim the builder used so the family room still reads as one room.
I called expecting a hard sell on a new kitchen and got talked into about a tenth of that. Dampers on every door, roll-outs in four cabinets and the hinges re-aimed. It feels like a different kitchen and they were straight with me that the boxes had years left in them.
They rebuilt the flanking recesses either side of our fireplace and scribed everything to walls that turned out to be well off plumb. The baseboard profile on the new units matches the rest of the house exactly, which is the part I did not expect anyone to bother with.
Sink base had rotted out under a slow leak we never noticed. They rebuilt it in plywood, put in an undermount bowl in a quartz top, and were done in the window they quoted. No surprises on the invoice and they came back to adjust the doors a month later.

About Allen Elite Custom Cabinets in Allen, TX
Allen Elite Custom Cabinets has spent more than fifteen years building and installing cabinetry in Collin County, and most of that work has been one job repeated in a thousand variations: taking out the cheapest cabinet line a national builder could specify and putting in something that will still be square in twenty years. We know what came out of which builder in which years, which is why our quotes come with drawings instead of guesses.
We build boxes in furniture-grade plywood, spray doors in a controlled booth rather than brushing them on site, and set nothing that has not been scribed to your walls. Licensed, insured and bonded, with a written workmanship warranty on every installation, and the same crew from the measure through the punch list.
When not to hire us: if you are listing the house within a year, a full cabinet replacement will not return what it costs here. Say so at the measure and we will quote the small version instead, or tell you honestly to paint, change the hardware and keep your money. We would rather do a two-thousand dollar job you are glad you did than a forty-thousand dollar one you regret at closing.
How It Works
- 1
1. Measure and open a door
We measure the room ourselves and then look inside the cabinets, because the carcass decides the scope. Frameless or face frame, plywood or particleboard, swollen at the sink or dry. Ten minutes with a tape and a flashlight answers most of what a quote depends on.
- 2
2. Draw it in elevation
You get plan and elevation drawings showing every door, drawer and filler against the walls, windows and appliances you actually have. Nothing is ordered off a plan dimension. If the island will not leave forty-two inches of aisle, you will see it on paper before you spend anything.
- 3
3. Build and finish
Boxes are cut, dadoed and assembled in the shop, and doors are sprayed with a catalysed finish in a controlled booth rather than brushed on site. Building off site keeps the dust and the smell out of the house and holds the schedule when the counter fabricator needs a date.
- 4
4. Set, scribe and template
Cabinets are levelled and scribed to the walls, hinges and slides are adjusted, and the counter template is booked for the following day. We come back after the stone is set to fit the toe kicks, the fillers and the hardware, then walk the punch list with you.

Commercial Casework & Millwork in Allen and Collin County
We build and install commercial casework for offices, medical and dental suites, retail spaces, churches and schools across Allen, Plano, McKinney and Frisco. Work is bid off the architect's drawings, field-measured after walls are up, and detailed in high-pressure laminate, solid surface or wood veneer depending on what the space actually has to survive. General contractors and property managers on tenant improvement schedules are most of our commercial book.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much do custom kitchen cabinets cost in Allen?
For a typical Allen kitchen of roughly twenty-five to thirty-five cabinets, plywood boxes with solid or painted MDF doors, full-extension undermount slides and soft-close throughout generally land in the mid five figures installed. Semi-custom lines run less, full custom with specialty finishes runs more. Counters, appliances, electrical and flooring are priced separately, and we itemise them so you can see what is driving the number.
My house is from 2006 with thermofoil doors. Reface or replace?
It depends on whether the layout is the complaint. If you like the plan and the boxes are dry and square, new doors and drawer fronts on the existing frameless boxes will change the room for a fraction of replacement. If you want drawer banks instead of doored bases, or the corner reworked, refacing cannot do it and the money is better spent on new cabinetry.
Can thermofoil cabinet doors be painted or refinished?
No. Thermofoil is a vinyl film heat-bonded to an MDF core, and paint will not bond to it reliably. Once the film lifts at a corner there is no repair that lasts. Anyone quoting you to refinish thermofoil is selling a job that will fail. The doors have to be replaced, though the boxes behind them may well be fine.
How long does a cabinet replacement take?
From approved drawings, shop time is usually four to six weeks. Installation of a typical Allen kitchen runs three to five days, then the counter template goes in the following day and the stone arrives about ten days after that. You are without a working sink for roughly two weeks in the middle. We stage the demolition so the refrigerator stays live throughout.
Can you match new cabinetry to the trim and floors the builder installed?
Yes, and it is most of the job in these houses. We pull the baseboard profile off the wall and copy it, sample the existing paint under daylight rather than shop light, and where a stain has to match red oak or the travertine in the family room we spray sample doors and leave them in your kitchen for a few days before committing to anything.
Which cabinet upgrades actually return at resale in Allen?
Kitchen and primary bath first, and nothing else is close in this price band. A painted perimeter with a stained island, soft-close throughout and quartz counters is what buyers here expect to see. Garage cabinetry, wine walls and elaborate closet islands are worth doing for yourself, not for the sale, and we will tell you so before you write the cheque.
